Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Conspiracy!

The popular Bourne Conspiracy movies have finally spawned a video game adaptation, but will The Bourne Conspiracy be able to break the movie-to-game curse?

First Impressions: Whenever possible, we try to give our loyal website viewers the most video footage and most in depth unbiased reviews imaginable. Part of that development is our "initial impressions" where we offer up our first impressions of the title that we are playing.

This gives our website visitors more of clear understanding of what to first expect out of the game when they initially pop it into their consoles.

If you scroll to the bottom of the page in the Rent vs. Buy section of the review and do not see the "final impressions" assessment then it's safe to say that you are reading our initial impression of the game. Once the final impression is up, there will be no further video or review done to that particular title.

Final Impressions: The final impression is just that, our completed breakdown and overall thoughts on the game based off of our entire game playing time.

You can locate the final impressions assessment in the "Rent vs. Buy" section of the review (always located at the very end of all of our reviews). Here you will be able to read our final thoughts on the title and also see any potential grade changes that were made to the game as well (higher or lower). Should a grading change occur, it will be clearly noted with the previous grade, the new grade, and why the change occurred.

Although this approach is more time consuming and requires many more man hours, our entire goal has always been to provide the best and completely unbiased reviews possible and we feel that the inclusion of the Initial Impressions and Final Impressions sections will give you a better view of what to expect from a new game.

All that we ask in return is for you to continue to support Krakrabbit.com by visiting the site and letting others know about our cause. Together we can supply our fellow gamers with the most impartial information so they can make an informed decision on whether to buy or rent this particular title.

Tie-In: The story of The Bourne Conspiracy has you placed in the shoes of 30-million dollar human weapon Jason Bourne on his adventures that range from ruthlessly killing targets as an assassin, to running away from his own agency.

You will be able to play through the story that ties in with the movies. You will take the role of Jason Bourne as he is being used as an assassin, and as he is fleeing from his former employers.

The story in the game is quite strong but like the movies can occasionally be a little confusing for those that do not pay attention to every word that is said a detail that is seen.

Interactive Movie: The biggest draw-in of The Bourne Conspiracy is having the opportunity to fight using all of Jason Bourne's abilities.

While the shooting aspects of the game are quite average, the hand-to-hand combat is where the juiciest action lies.

The combat system in the game does not involve running around mashing buttons as you flail your arms around and instead employs a unique countering system that gives the combat a more personal feel.

When you engage an enemy, your camera will shoot down to a lower level and focus on you and your opponent (like a movie fight scene).

During the actual combat, you will be able to use nearly anything in your environment to throw, sling, stab and swing at your enemy, while at the same time blocking and evading your opponent's attacks.

The combat in The Bourne Conspiracy is much more visceral and intense then anything that has been done before. You will undoubtedly enjoy the edge-of-your-seat battles that you will engage in.

Variety Is The Spice Of Life: The Bourne Conspiracy features a relatively large amount of campaign missions that you run through, but many of them seem to be shorter then the last.

The levels have quite a bit of variety however, and you will fight in a number of settings from ships, to warehouses, to offices.

While the levels are all nice and varied, the game is incredibly short and only clocks in at an unheard-of 5-6 hours.

That number means that you will be able to beat the game and have no farther use of it (because of the lack of online play) in less then an average work day.

Rent vs. Buy: Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Conspiracy is a very enjoyable game that does not radically fail on any level except for the unbelievably short campaign mode.

The visceral combat, impressive visuals, strong sound effects and varied levels are all nice, but the lack of any replay value and utterly shocking campaign length make The Bourne Conspiracy a rent only.
