LittleBigPlanet!

One of the most anticipated games of the year has finally arrived, but will LittleBigPlanet be able to live up the massive amount of hype?

First Impressions: Whenever possible, we try to give our loyal website viewers the most video footage and most in depth unbiased reviews imaginable. Part of that development is our "initial impressions" where we offer up our first impressions of the title that we are playing.

This gives our website visitors more of clear understanding of what to first expect out of the game when they initially pop it into their consoles.

If you scroll to the bottom of the page in the Rent vs. Buy section of the review and do not see the "final impressions" assessment then it's safe to say that you are reading our initial impression of the game. Once the final impression is up, there will be no further video or review done to that particular title.

Final Impressions: The final impression is just that, our completed breakdown and overall thoughts on the game based off of our entire game playing time.

You can locate the final impressions assessment in the "Rent vs. Buy" section of the review (always located at the very end of all of our reviews). Here you will be able to read our final thoughts on the title and also see any potential grade changes that were made to the game as well (higher or lower). Should a grading change occur, it will be clearly noted with the previous grade, the new grade, and why the change occurred.

Although this approach is more time consuming and requires many more man hours, our entire goal has always been to provide the best and completely unbiased reviews possible and we feel that the inclusion of the Initial Impressions and Final Impressions sections will give you a better view of what to expect from a new game.

All that we ask in return is for you to continue to support Krakrabbit.com by visiting the site and letting others know about our cause. Together we can supply our fellow gamers with the most impartial information so they can make an informed decision on whether to buy or rent this particular title.

Aimless Wonderer: The story of LittleBigPlanet is nearly incomprehensible and is not something that is easily understood.

You will play as a customized Sackboy or Sackgirl on a quest to...well, your little Sackperson doesn't really have a real goal.

The game simply moves you from level to creative level in a slightly random matter. LBP tends to focus more on its gameplay and Editor tools then anything else like a storyline.

Stylin' Sackperson: During the innovative tutorial level, as well as throughout the game, you will be able to customize your little Sackperson to your liking.

Although you are a bit limited at first in the amount of options that you have at your disposal, you constantly earn costumes, colors, accessories and other additions to your character in every level.

The amount of options that you have after only passing only a couple of levels is astounding.

You will be able to make nearly any Sackboy or Sackgirl that you want, from placing a Pirate costume on your character, to outfitting it with a top hat, glasses, or moustaches.

You have a nearly limitless number of vastly different styles to create and the one that you end up choosing is entirely unique and personalized to you.

Just One More: The gameplay featured in LittleBigPlanet can only be described as incredibly addictive.

LittleBigPlanet takes you through a massive variety of environments that each feel distinctly different and completely unique.

You will take your Sackperson through platforming levels that have its own feel, as well as secrets and dangers.

The level design in LBP is one of its most impressive strengths. The stages ramp up in difficulty as you progress and thus become even more intense.

From traversing levels of hungry Alligators to jumping over treacherous pits of fire, you will constantly be facing new and innovative obstacles.

LittleBigPlanet's levels are unique and always interesting to watch and play through. There is no way that you could not enjoy seeing your little Sackperson hang onto speeding windmills or avoid cardboard ghosts.

The game is a little "Kiddie" but the cardboard environments and bright colors are amazingly appealing to adults. At no point or time do you ever feel like you are playing a game that is intended for children.

In fact, even though the game is simple, there are quite a few puzzles that will stump full-grown adults for a few minutes.

The only place LBP vaguely (very vaguely) lacks is in the slightly unpredictable jumps that you make. Sometimes you jump a little too lightly, causing your Sackperson to jump a little more erratically then you may have anticipated. However, it is rare to be hindered by this occasionally unbalanced jumping feature.

Sackperson Architect: LittleBigPlanet also allows you to create and upload your very own created levels for others to enjoy (don't worry, you can play levels others have created too).

The level creator is amazingly deep and allows you a massive amount of options with which to customize your level with.

You will be able to choose the colors, backgrounds, designs, pitfalls, and much more, although there are some problems with the simplicity of the level editor.

The level editor is a little difficult to use when you first try your hand at creating levels and it will take some time before you are able to totally learn what you can do.

It takes a few minutes to get the hang of alignments, what looks decent and even trying to keep it playable can be a little tasking.

It is entirely possible though, even easy after you get the hang of the level editor to pump out expansive levels with ease within minutes.

Rainbow Of Colors: LittleBigPlanet features a completely unique and vibrant visual style that fits perfectly into the LBP feel.

Everything is bright, lively and lighthearted. From the Crocodiles in the Safari levels, to the groundhogs in the introduction level, everything is very amusing, as well as sharp and clean.

Simply viewing this optimistic visual style - which is a nice departure from the Resistances and the Gears of Wars - can make you feel upbeat.

Simple Tunes: Another positive aspect of LittleBigPlanet is the incredible soundtrack that plays throughout the various levels.

The music that plays during the many stages is always simple, but very enjoyable and blithe.

Rent vs. Buy: LittleBigPlanet is an incredible game that does not fail in any possible way.

The addictive gameplay, buoyant soundtrack, tremendous level design, unique visual style and amazing level creator make LittleBigPlanet virtually devoid of flaws.

If you were hoping that LittleBigPlanet was going to live up to the hype, then you are in for a surprise; it is better then hype suggested!

LittleBigPlanet will suck you in for hours at a time with its limitless replay value and engrossing gameplay. LBP is an absolute must buy title that cannot be missed by anyone!
