Tom Clancys Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter!

The popular Ghost Recon franchise, (originally rooted with the original Xbox) has finally made its arrival into the next generation. But will it live up to the well-known name?

First Impressions: Whenever possible, we try to give our loyal website viewers the most video footage and most in depth unbiased reviews imaginable. Part of that development is our "initial impressions" where we offer up our first impressions of the title that we are playing.

This gives our website visitors more of clear understanding of what to first expect out of the game when they initially pop it into their consoles.

If you scroll to the bottom of the page in the Rent vs. Buy section of the review and do not see the "final impressions" assessment then it's safe to say that you are reading our initial impression of the game. Once the final impression is up, there will be no further video or review done to that particular title.

Final Impressions: The final impression is just that, our completed breakdown and overall thoughts on the game based off of our entire game playing time.

You can locate the final impressions assessment in the "Rent vs. Buy" section of the review (always located at the very end of all of our reviews). Here you will be able to read our final thoughts on the title and also see any potential grade changes that were made to the game as well (higher or lower). Should a grading change occur, it will be clearly noted with the previous grade, the new grade, and why the change occurred.

Although this approach is more time consuming and requires many more man hours, our entire goal has always been to provide the best and completely unbiased reviews possible and we feel that the inclusion of the Initial Impressions and Final Impressions sections will give you a better view of what to expect from a new game.

All that we ask in return is for you to continue to support Krakrabbit.com by visiting the site and letting others know about our cause. Together we can supply our fellow gamers with the most impartial information so they can make an informed decision on whether to buy or rent this particular title.

War Union: The story of GRAW tells the story of the "fictional" scenario of America, Mexico, and Canada, all of them uniting in one united nation. The proposal falls through when one of the presidents gets assassinated, now it's up to the Ghosts to put a handle on the situation.

The story of GRAW is one of the greatest aspects of the game. As you progress through the various missions, you will get a feed of the latest news reports to see the implications of your actions. This feature fully immerses you in the game, and makes you feel like you are really fighting a war in Mexico.

Weapons Free: After you complete a very in-depth training mission introducing you to GRAW, you will come in contact with your first set of teammates. You can choose what teammates you would like to bring with you on your mission, whether it is a heavy gunner, medic, and a grenadier, or any other combination.

The biggest flaw in your combat buddies is their AI. Your partners will often become incapacitated in combat calling you for assistance and when I say often I mean OFTEN. They will constantly fall in combat after running miles away from you, making themselves un-findable and eventually dying, leaving you on your own.

Cover To Cover: The biggest focus of GRAW is the newly implemented cover system, and the new over the shoulder view. The new view is a welcome addition to the game, giving you an even more in-depth feel of the battles that will take place.

The cover system also works tremendously well. GRAW isn't your "pray-and-spray" type of game, and requires a huge amount of planning and focus to survive. If you run out into the open, you will without a doubt die quickly.

You often have to scout the area, eliminate the various targets blocking your next cover point, then run as fast as you can. As you run toward your cover, you will have the ability to make a final dive/slide to cover if you are being hit too much on your way there.

Swift Death: One of the best (but most difficult) aspects of GRAW is the punishing realism. You will move like a solider donning body armor, and he moves with a great sense of weight. In addition to that, you will quickly die from only a few shots, and if you don't your health will stay very low for the remainder of the mission, making finishing the mission that much harder.

Rent vs. Buy: GRAW is a fantastic game that blends aspects of tactics and brute force together in a great concoction. The tremendous storyline and fantastic multi-player also adds a great layer to the game. GRAW is an absolute must-buy for anyone who likes tactical shooters like Full Spectrum Warrior.
